Eurodix Technical Team For Fresh Citrus fruits & Ethical Trading….
Andrea Alexander is responsible for managing the Eurodix technical team, under her direction are 10 QA / QC staff.
The team as a whole has a tremendous wealth of technical and “hands on experience” in the UK and our overseas supply base.
All staff members of the technical team have a wide knowledge of product areas and varieties relating to each country of procurement. The team has spent many seasons over the years visiting and living with the source understanding the harvesting and processing procedures.
It is this valuable experience that enables the team to relate to the product on arrival to our site in Peterborough.
It is Eurodix policy that the technical team carries out pre-season visits to all sources. The visits are vitally important in order that we understand the season and any potential issues that can be dealt with, without compromising our customer's quality standard.
We strongly believe in having technical staff based at source, especially when developing a foundation for new procurement areas of the world.
We also have the benefits of two senior Development Managers, Bernard Bell based in the Northern Hemisphere and Alex Fortmann in Southern Hemisphere, working all year round with our supply source to ensure we continue to develop forward. We also have Lorenzo Fernandez, supporting each grower with the implementation of the most demanding technical standards required by the UK market.
The Eurodix team has worked extremely hard over the past 3 years developing and supporting the implementation of standards such as EUREPGAP (Good Agricultural Practices), TNC, BRC Higher Level audits and Ethical Trading Initiatives.
The Eurodix commitment to EUREPGAP and TNC has lead to a great success and the majority of our fresh citrus fruit suppliers around the globe are already approved. We are aiming for our total supply base to be fully accredited by the end of 2005.
Eurodix understands the importance of delivering a safe and traceable product. This is only possible by working in partnership with our supply base thus encouraging sustainable socially and environmentally – friendly production .
